Bio

Victoria Pent Ferreira graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Messiah College after being under the instruction of Peter Sirotin, who is now the active concertmaster of the Harrisburg Symphony.

She has studied with countless other violinists such as Ann Marie Calhoun, solo violinist for Hans Zimmer film productions in L.A., David Colwell, UVA violin professor and concert master, Christian Howes, world’s greatest jazz violinist, and she has performed with world re-known and Grammy award winning, Mark O’Connor. She has also instructed and performed at the Fine Arts Summer Academy, with the Annie Moses Band, performing on stage at the Grand ‘Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

Victoria teaches violin and beginner piano. She is a certified instructor in the O’Connor Fiddle Method, an American School of String Playing, Books I-IV which was written and developed by the Grammy award winner, Mark O’Connor. She has completed the required coursework for the Rolland Pedagogy String Method at Arizona State University and incorporates this classically based method into her lesson structure. She has also fulfilled the requirements for the “Every Child Can” Suzuki training course in Fort Worth, Texas.

Victoria has been trained to play classical music on both piano and violin. She knows how crucial it is to build from a classical foundation, but also knows the benefit of learning and performing in other styles. She has experience performing solo recitals playing Beethoven and Dvorak, improvising on stage with a jazz band, to performing on stage at the Grand ‘Ole Opry in Nashville, to playing with her worship team at Forest Hill church on a Sunday morning, and even creating a music video on the farm where she grew up. There is a great need for instructors who will allow their students to explore these different styles, beyond classical.

In addition to operating her studio, Victoria and her husband serve on the worship team at New City Church. She is a violinist there and her husband is a vocalist and keys player. They also serve in Italy. They own and operate a non-profit organization called Vita Vera.

She has been teaching the violin for a decade and has taught students from the ages of 3 to 43 years of age, including special needs. She is launching an incredible online violin course in 2024! Be on the lookout!
